What is the NEXT.reality Contest?
The Next.reality Contest is one of the most important events in the XR industry and honors the most innovative XR projects every year. Outstanding concepts and implementations that are shaping the future of immersive technologies are honored in various categories. The Community Award is a very special award, as it is presented directly by the community. That means: The users themselves voted for us!
What was HoloNative recognized for?
AI image editing tools make it possible to quickly analyze and change faces. The fact that our perception is technologically and artificially distorted represents a social, political and individual challenge. In order to raise awareness of this issue, we have developed a VR application in which students are trained as “deepfake detectives” and sensitized to the topic.
The game is part of a holistic workshop in which participants learn the influence of deepfakes on our world, society and how to deal with changed content using various techniques.
What does the profit mean for our future?
This prize is not only a great honor, but was also a motivation for us to further develop the project at HoloNative. We quickly realized that this topic had potential. The “Deepfake Detective” project was instrumental in founding the company techagogics GmbH contributed. At techagogics workshops, the focus is on imparting knowledge of competencies in the field of artificial intelligence and future technologies.
