The specific added value of a digital twin and processes of a cloud-based analysis platform are shown in various scenarios.

Deutsche Bahn is constantly working on technical innovations that improve the customer experience and enable more efficient maintenance. One of these innovations is the digital twin of the entire rail network. The added value of the digital twin should be presented at various events using a detailed exhibit that represents a section of a high-speed train. Explaining the specific added values of the digital twin and, in particular, explaining invisible innovations, such as data processing on the cloud-based analysis platform, was only a challenge with the exhibit and without a visual component.
Make the invisible visible — with augmented reality and an immersive iPad experience.
The AR application allows various scenarios to be presented, which show the added value of the digital twin and how different user groups use the cloud-based analysis platform. For example, it visualizes how data is included in the analysis platform when measuring the wear of a train's wheels and used for forecasts. Or how the maintenance of the trackbed is checked, data is collected and the trackbed is brought back into shape when necessary. The interactive type of presentation enables specific topics to be selected and three-dimensional presentations to look at details.
