Challenges, requirements and solutions are made tangible in various scenarios using augmented reality.

Deutsche Bahn is working together with mobile phone providers to provide high-speed Internet for passengers and internal rail radio on the train. For press meetings and exhibitions, a detailed exhibit was produced, which represents a section of a high-speed train. The exhibit was now intended to present which specific measures are planned to sustainably improve network coverage during the train journey. Explaining this complex topic in the right context with just the exhibit was a challenge.
Storytelling with augmented reality — from the challenge to the requirements to the solution, presented vividly through an interactive iPad application.
The AR application makes it possible to visualize various scenarios, which are embedded in the narrative of the challenge, the requirements and the solutions. Through 3D models and animations directly on the exhibit, the content is brought into a dynamic and contextual environment that can be experienced directly by the audience. For example, it will be shown how and where the mast developed specifically for this project is mounted on the tracks or what effects lasering the coated panes on the train has on the mobile phone reception of one's own device. Through storytelling with concrete context, the audience can better identify with specific topics and situations and thus build an emotional connection, understand abstract functions better and remember the presentation better.
